Corporate America Behind the Curve

The power of blogging is almost an uncontrollable source of PR and most Fortune 500 and 1000 corporations are finally realizing the extent to which this powerful tool can alter their reputation.

The commuinques that are posted are honest and open and can put the company at an extremely high risk for a security breach. These securities need to be protected but most companies are unclear of how to police these sanctioned and unsanctioned blogs.

With the development of standards and the consequences of not following them, the content in these blogs will soon change. The freedom of speech does not apply to such blogs when they relate to the workplace, so beware. Companies are quick to "dooce" someone who breaks these rules, with dooce being the new term for firing someone for something they have written.
